“ Lovely location in the Bavarian mountains, beside a peaceful green lake. We had potato pancakes, which were delicious. Very friendly young lady server who spoke great English. Enjoy a walk around the lake, which takes about 45 mins at a leasurely pace. Wonderful scenery. The town of Mittenwald is close by, which is a real gem of a place. ”

“ We hiked from Garmisch-Partenkirchen to Mittenwald on a very rainy day and Gasthaus Ferchensee was the perfect stop for lunch. Food was good, beer was very tasty, but the dessert and the view were the stars of the show. It was very busy since we visited on a Sunday afternoon and lots of hiking groups were going through, but we snagged a great little table outside under the eaves and watched the clouds move around the mountains while we rested our legs. ”

They went over and above, with one of them cleaning the outdoor seating post recurring rain because I wanted to sit outside (an hour before they closed). Although this may be normal in many places, this is the first place in Mittenwald (maybe even in Bavaria) where I have experienced this. ”
